Vestige
2023
The paintings in Vestige explore time, memory, and the traces that remain through the act of making and erasing. I work through a cycle of painting, scraping, and repainting—allowing each layer to leave its mark on the next.
The subjects—vessels, eggs, animals, lemons—emerge through this process with a kind of fragile persistence. What interests me is the dialogue between presence and absence, what’s revealed and what’s lost. These works are meditations on transformation, where every surface carries the memory of its own making.
