Rather than striving for precise, outdoor accuracy, I create paintings of land, sea, and sky from memory and imagination. Working in my studio, I build each composition from broad, simplified gestures that balance realism and abstraction. For me, landscape is not simply a view of nature, but a structure—an arrangement of abstracted forms that suggests more through restraint and rhythm than through detail.

I am especially drawn to weather as a recurring subject. In this painting, a dense, dark cloud dominates the upper composition, its weight countered by a luminous horizon that glows with quiet intensity. Below, soft tonal shifts suggest distant hills and a foreground washed in muted light. This work evokes a transitory moment—something felt and remembered rather than precisely observed.

The painting is presented in a handcrafted frame by Guido Frames, made of walnut with a white gold leaf face. The subtle interplay between natural wood and reflective metal enhances the painting’s tonal harmony and contemplative presence.
