Design Office
My design practice extends the same principles that guide my painting: clarity, proportion, and material integrity. Based in Woodstock, Vermont, I design books and printed works that devote sustained attention to image, text, and physical form.
Design
I operate an independent studio focused on publications shaped by art, architecture, private collections, and place. Projects range from limited editions to large-scale museum volumes, each developed through close collaboration and rigorous production.
Clients
Since 1991, I have designed over two hundred art books and exhibition catalogues for publishers and institutions, including Hatje Cantz, Rizzoli International Publications, the Barnes Foundation, Harvard Art Museums, the MIT List Visual Arts Center, the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth, and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Additionally, I have designed more than forty catalogues for Dartmouth College’s Studio Art Exhibition Program and produced eight multilingual catalogues raisonnés for the Li Ching Foundation in Taipei.
Creative Services
My work integrates design, writing, and photography to develop comprehensive printed projects. Every collaboration begins with listening—shaping structure, pacing, and material choices to support the ideas at the center of the work.
