The Bird Paintings
These recent paintings explore the quiet poetry of birds—their moments of flight and repose, and the balance between movement and calm. Rooted in observation yet shaped by memory, the works move between representation and abstraction, where form emerges through gesture, layering, and erasure.
Through the tactile language of oil paint and pastel, I seek to capture the essence of presence rather than likeness. Each surface evolves instinctively, revealing traces of both time and touch. The birds, at once real and imagined, inhabit an atmosphere of stillness and motion—a meditation on nature’s quiet rhythm and the harmony that exists between the visible and the unseen.
The 12 x 10 inch works are painted in oil on linen board. Frames are handmade by Guido Frames, walnut with gold leaf face.

Atmospheric Landscape Paintings
These two new paintings draw inspiration from the landscape surrounding my home in Woodstock, Vermont. They are not literal depictions but quiet reflections on light, weather, and place—moments when the atmosphere itself becomes the subject. Through layered oil and textured surfaces, I seek to capture the balance between permanence and change, and the calm presence found where land meets sky.
The 16 x 20 inch works are painted in oil on linen board. Frames are handmade by Guido Frames, walnut with white gold leaf face.

The Cow Paintings
This group of four paintings explores the cow as both subject and symbol—an emblem of rural life, quiet strength, and timeless familiarity. Working from memory and imagination, I simplified each composition to its essential forms, balancing spontaneity with restraint.
Through a combination of oil stick drawing, monotype printing, and brushwork, I sought to create images that feel both immediate and enduring—primitive in their directness yet refined in their construction. The cows, rendered in varied palettes of blue, black, white, and coral pink, stand within abstracted landscapes that evoke stillness, companionship, and the rhythm of the natural world.
These paintings continue my exploration of animal imagery as a means of expressing balance, memory, and presence—bridging the lyrical freedom of my bird series with the quiet symbolism of Nordic design and folk art.
The 10 x 12 inch works are painted in oil and pastel on linen board. Frames are custom made by Metropolitan Frames.
