In painting, I am drawn to the space where representation and abstraction meet—where form begins to dissolve into gesture, and the visible world gives way to suggestion.
In this large canvas, a group of bluebirds rises gently from the lower edge, their flight rendered as a quiet rhythm across the surface. Some forms are fully realized; others dissolve into atmosphere, their outlines traced in oil stick pastel and softened into translucency. Together, they move upward in a slow, rocking cadence, creating a visual harmony that feels both grounded and weightless.
The process is itself a meditation on space and light. Layers of paint are applied and reworked, allowing luminosity to emerge from within the surface. The result invites stillness—a moment suspended between presence and disappearance, where the act of seeing becomes its own form of reverence.
