Catalogue Raisonné, Prints — Limited Edition Case Set

Author: Rita Wong
Graphic design and production oversight: Glenn Suokko
Publisher: Li Ching Cultural and Educational Foundation, Taipei
Edition: Limited to 100 copies

2018 · Two-volume set in cloth case

This limited bilingual edition presents Sanyu’s complete known printmaking—drypoints, etchings, linocuts, and lithographs—reproduced with close attention to paper, tone, and detail. The set includes two volumes: The Prints, presenting the works, and The Texts, offering critical context for Sanyu’s print practice within twentieth-century art.

Material choices are integral to the design. The prints are reproduced on Rives BFK 100% cotton paper, echoing Sanyu’s own preference in many originals. The two books are housed together in a red linen cloth box, with a translucent jacket for The Prints. The overall structure draws quiet inspiration from Les poèmes de T’ao Ts’ien (Paris, 1930), a rare publication that included Sanyu’s etchings.
