New Still Life

This presentation of paintings reflects my latest explorations in the still life genre. In this body of work, the picture plane is flattened, and the suggested forms are reduced to become ambiguous symbols of common utilitarian objects—bowls, vessels, bottles, glasses. The creative process provides me the opportunity for inventiveness and combines my interest in two-dimensional design with theorized, artful expression where the boundaries between tradition and abstraction are freely pushed as a way of rethinking what generally accepted requirements make a still life painting.
