Shelburne Farms : Barns
”Three outstanding barns—the Farm Barn, Breeding Barn, and Coach Barn—are among the most distinguished structures at Shelburne Farms designed by Robert H. Robertson. At the time, the New York City architect was known for his tall skyscrapers, such as Park Row, the highest building in New York City in 1899. As pioneering as his Manhattan architecture was, his work in Shelburne, Vermont, became his magnum opus.”
Glenn Suokko, “Major Barns,” in Shelburne Farms: House, Gardens, Farm, and Barns (New York: Rizzoli International Publications, 2017), 149.
